Poker Pro for Life
I feel so blessed and grateful to be doing this: playing poker professionally. It’s been over 12 years now, and it seems to get better and more enjoyable with each passing month. It gets easier too, I gotta say. I see others around me get burned out or fade out or bust out, and I guess I’ve been lucky.
Poker Pro Lifestyle
Doors seem to be opening all the time now. The site is really taking off. The twitch stream is quickly gaining momentum, tripling in viewership last Saturday! I was honored that @bigdogpckt5s, owner of www.tournamentpokeredge.com even stopped in my stream yesterday! He boasts hundreds to thousands of viewers in his own tournament-focused stream.
I’m picking up some DJing gigs again now that I’m back home. Just opened for Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation last weekend, and MAN that was a rush. Rob is a truly stand-up guy, and easy to talk to. And such a rock star! Not sure how old he is, but he’s definitely been at it a LONG time and still travelling the world. He was in Istanbul last week and off to another country the next.
The Poker Pro Sets an Intention
So as this all seems to be accelerating for me right now, I’m going to make a personal commitment. I’ll set an intention and stick to it. I intend to remain cool. I don’t want to be that guy that gets wrapped up in his own fame and success and forgets his friends along the way. Or no longer has time for those that are still grinding it up and ask for help. I’ll do my best to maintain my integrity and grace and gratitude.
Just some personal thoughts I wanted to voice.
And thank you guys for reading! I have some more changes coming up too. Some big ideas. I hope to start shifting this site more towards a community vibe where we’re helping each other reach success as a team. Bringing on some coaches. Starting a forum. It’s all coming. And I’d love to hear any ideas you guys might have too!
